Sunset over the new half of the building

The Class of 1966 Environmental Center is the exemplar of the environmental and educational mission at Williams College. In pursuit of one of the world’s leading sustainable building certifications, the Living Building Challenge, the building has met ambitious goals that intersect energy and water objectives with beauty and equity. The building is home to the Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives and the Center for Environmental Studies, which focus on big-picture sustainability goals for the campus and pursuing the educational ambition of the College, respectively. The building is open to the public and is the on-campus vision for the future.
